Retail Store Manager
Employment Type: Full Time
Work location: Downtown, Portland
Pay: $22 - $28/hr DOE
Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Store Manager to oversee the daily operations of our retail store. The Store Manager will be responsible for managing a team, ensuring excellent customer service, and maximizing sales and profitability.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage and lead a team of retail associates, providing guidance, training, and support
- Create and implement strategies to drive sales and achieve store targets
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure appropriate stock levels are maintained
- Oversee the visual merchandising of the store to maximize sales potential
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and escalations in a professional manner
- Conduct regular staff meetings to communicate goals, expectations, and updates
- Interview, hire, and train new employees as needed
- Develop and implement training programs to enhance employee skills and product knowledge
- Utilize retail math to analyze sales data, track performance, and make informed business decisions
Experience and Qualifications:
- Proven experience in team management within a retail environment
- Strong knowledge of retail operations, including cash register operation, stock management, and visual merchandising
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to negotiate effectively with customers and suppliers
- Experience in conducting interviews and hiring new employees
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
- Proficient in using technology such as point-of-sale systems and inventory management software
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
