Beats & Burn Vol. 33 - Jevan Lautz

Beats & Burn Vol. 33 - Jevan Lautz

If you live in Portland, you'll know that this October has brought some remarkably dry and sunny weather, paired with the type of vibrant foliage that draws in tourists from all corners of the country. Our Beats & Burn Vol. 33 playlist was made with that dreamy fall weather in mind, as well as a quintessential fall activity. Enjoy listening as you cruise to a nearby farm to find some pumpkins, or stroll through a peaceful tree-covered street, or simply relax on your back porch and drink a pumpkin-flavored beer in the privacy of your own home (because you're slightly embarrassed about it, but goddamn it's a tasty beverage and you get to make the rules around here). So, our fellow fall-enthusiast, this one's for you.

About the mix
"When Erik asked me to put together a mix for the October Beats & Burn, I anxiously said yes, knowing my Libra indecisiveness was about to go full throttle considering my eclectic taste in music. The mood of this playlist was inspired by the amazing October weather we have been experiencing paired with crisp mornings reminding us of what’s around the corner. Get outside, enjoy the last bits of sun, or sink into your favorite chair with something poured neat."

About the DJ
A native of Portland, co-founder of Tanner Goods, and A Fairly Decent DJ. You are most likely to catch him at a Timbers match–or chasing his 2 year old son, Quincy, around with his wife, Julie, somewhere deep in the woods.

About the art
“October has been my favorite month of the year for as long as I can remember. The changing leaves and rich colors of the season are a reminder of nature’s circular pattern and the beauty that can be found in decay. I am also inspired greatly by the printmaking techniques of Japanese artists during the Edo period. This playlist made me think of sitting on the front porch listening to the psychedelic & surreal. I wanted to combine these things to create a piece that is both peaceful and mysterious."
